Essential Patterns of Successful Agile Transformations

Abstract

Everyone seems to be going agile nowadays. Terms like adoption, migration, business agility, and transformation are used to represent the move to agility. And they also imply that the going is easy. Well that is not Jim Grundner’s experience. In fact, it is the opposite. Agile transformation, deep and successful organization-wide transformation, is incredibly hard to achieve. One of the greatest challenges is knowing what the path “looks like”.

In this talk, Jim Grundner will be sharing patterns they’ve observed from successful agile transformations. We’ll start by examining the journey of agile leadership. What are the central patterns that leaders need to adopt. For example, trust, empowerment, and employee engagement will be explored. Next, we’ll look at organizational factors and tactics for increasing safety and innovation. We’ll also look at transformations at Enterprise-scale and distributed teams to see how to transform those contexts.

This workshop is not for the faint of heart, as transformation is hard. But if you want successfully create a transition to business agility, youíll leave with tools and a new mindset.
